You simply MUST know that my daughter stretches like this EVERY TIME she wakes up from a nap. She could be waking from a 3 hour nap or just a 15 minute cat nap. It doesn't matter. She makes a HUGE production out of stretching. JUST. LIKE. HER. FATHER. :) He has said to me on numerous occassions "Stretching starts my day" or "Stretching is as important as brushing your teeth." Okay, maybe not EXACTLY that, but you get the point. :) So without further ado, Nellianne the stretching contortionist:

Here We Go A-Rhumba-ing...
Several firsts this week. I can't believe it's already Thursday! Anyway, Tuesday night husband and I left Nellianne with her Yia Yia & Granpappy to steal away a few precious hours as a couple. I'd already forgotten how much fun just the two of us have together. We hopped over to a FABULOUS brewhouse on the southside - Fireside Grill and then husband surprised me with an introductory dance lesson!!! :) That's right Conrad and I learned the basic steps to the Rhumba, Foxtrot and Waltz. Now, you simply must understand a few things that make this event all the more entertaining.
One: We have never had any dance lessons. Ever. And it shows.
Two: We kept laughing. You know, the kind of school girl giggle laughter that spreads and then no one can remember why you started laughing in the first place. I think it had something to do with the fact that we were waltzing to the The Eagles song "Take It to the Limit." See. I just laughed. Right then.
Three: Conrad couldn't stop saying the instructions out loud while we were dancing. For example: The instructions for Rhumba were "quick quick slow; quick quick slow." So the ENTIRE TIME Conrad was saying, in a rather unique british-esque accent, "quick, quick, slow." This would have been all well and good --- had it been in time with the music. :) Pretty bad when your dance instructor, EJ (whom I might have called Egypt), has to stop your dancing to tell you to listen to the music.
Four: I like to be the man. It is true. I owe husband dearest an apology - I kept trying to lead while we danced. I just couldn't help it!!! :)
All in all we had a WONDERFUL time. We missed Nellianne, but enjoyed each other. I feel so blessed to have shared some quality time with Conrad - amazing how 3 hours can renew you for another week. :)

A Case of the Mondays
A few firsts this weekend! Nellianne went to the church nursery for second service AND spent 4 hourd over at Yia Yia and Granpappy's house -- WITHOUT mom or daddy! Can you believe it!?! I think being such a darling little girl all weekend wore her out. She slept for 7.5 hours straight last night! We both woke thinking something was terribly wrong!!! On top of that she has slept pretty much all day - but not sound enough to put in hr crib or cradle. Which means I've held her almost all day. Darn. :) Homer also has a case of the Mondays and has been sleeping on my feet. I love dogs! :) And with that, Ill post a couple photos. Come on, I know that's the real reason you all read this ! :)
She's my little smiler!

You Know You're A Momma When...
1. You're out running errands at Target and smell something sour. Upon glancing down at your shoulder you discover a trail of baby regurgitation running slightly down your back. Your response: carry on with the errands.
2. 3 uninterrupted hours of sleep seems luxurious!
3. Your living room couch is buried in 3 blankies, a baby mirror, a box of wipes, a soiled romper, 2 remote controls and 1 soiled diaper. What's more, none of this seems to bother you!
4. Showers come once every 4 days. Maybe.
5. Your fridge is filled with pizza and fast food leftovers. Oh, and expressed milk!
6. You digital camera memory card is always full. The little baby is just so cute all the time! :)
7. You don't mind ONE BIT of this! :)

Husband has the laptop up and running again - for now. :) Its been nice to cruise the interweb again and start to make some blog entries whilst I have a sleeping babe on my lap. :) So. I found the sweetest "casual infant clothing" website! It's called Grow and reminds me a lot of Life Is Good. Check it out!

Un fotografia
I'm on the laptop, which is sad for one reason: all the photos I've edited are upstairs on the big computer. :( Normally, I would gladly make the trek up the stairs in order to satisfy some grandparents, great grandparents and great aunts desire for Nellianne pictures, but lately just my presence in a room has stirred her from slumber - which means delayed sleep for Momma. :) So you understand why I will not be climbing the stairs tonight! :) Here is the one photo that I have on this computer that I haven't posted here:
How cute is she?!?! :) We had a weight check on Tuesday and my girl is now 9 pounds 6 ounces and 22 inches long. How quickly they grow. I know it sounds cliche, but it is so true. She's gaining head control rapidly (Daddy REALLY likes tummy time with his girl) and I think she is starting to PURPOSELY smile at people she recognizes. I know she intentionally smiles at her parents - or she's just the most gas filled little person in the world! :) SO HAPPY ONE MONTH BIRTHDAY to my girl! :) I'll write again soon...hopefully from the big computer with more photos! :)

A Half Hour.
Once again I don't have much time, but I thought I would add a few more photos of our little Nellianne. She's growing so fast I can't believe it! I know she's only 3 weeks, but she's changed SO MUCH already. She has even outgrown most of her newborn clothes! Conrad is feeding her her first bottle right now. It's a huge step! I haven't heard any cries so it must be going well! :) So, until I have more than one hand to type with, here are some photos:
.
Yes, she's smiling. :)
.
She doesn't like to sleep unless she's being held. Upon a suggestion from a church friend we swaddled our Nellianne up and put her in a laundry basket to sleep. Worked like a charm! I just hope it works tonight too! :)
