Easter Weekend Photos Round One...

A new game - Daddy turns her into an airplane and she, in turn, opens her mouth.  This resulted in a spewing plane ride all over mommy on one of the flights.  Ew.  Gross.

We now actually LIKE tummy time!  Who knew!?

Yes, she really IS asleep with her eyes open and her finger in her mouth.  Once they find their hands it's all over!
Naked in a blanket before bath time!
I feel as though she's saying "YESSSSS Daddy just put a clean diaper on for me to mess up!!!"

Revelation 5

It has been awhile since I posted something, dare I say, serious.  Well hold on to your socks kids, becuse it's coming.  Maybe not total seriousness, but as close as I get these days.  :)

Husband and I spent Easter weekend in his hometown - Reno.  We went to church with his parents and enjoyed a good 'ole Baptist sermon.  I must confess though - I missed our church.  I found myself flipping the gilded edges of my Bible to Revelation 5 -- the passage I knew Pastor Ken would be preaching on.  At our church the Pastor chooses a book of the bible and we go through the book, verse by verse.  And on Easter Sunday our church stuck with routine.  So away Pastor Ken preached.  He DID preach the gospel message - then again he does this every Sunday as well.  :)

I was struck with how appropriate the verses in Revelation 5 ARE for an Easter message: "2And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, "Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?" 3But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. 4I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside...Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders...7He came and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne. 8And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb...9And they sang a new song:    "You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. 10You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth...12In a loud voice they sang: "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!".

What a blessing from the Lord that we would find ourselves in this particular passage for the celebration of the ressurection!  I have no doubt this was not coincidence -- but Godcidence.  There are so many pieces of this passage that glorify the Lord and I cannot WAIT to hear the message when the podcast is put up.  But for now I will rejoice in what the passage has already taught me: Our Lord is the same forever.  He took all the sins of the world upon his shoulders that day on the cross and became the slaughtered lamb.  He will return one day the slaughtered lamb - not pristine and golden and glory filled -- but "looking as if he had been slain" -- because He was.  For us.  For our sin.  So that we might join in the chorus "worthy is the lamb" with Him in heaven one day.  :)

Happy late Easter.

My daughter...

And the Faces Continue...

Sesame continues to amaze us with new faces and noises everyday! These were taken just this morning. I've been a ouch sick this week and have missed our playtime ever so much -- she's been spending time over at Yia Yia and Pappy's house! Hopefully we'll both be well enough for our trip tomorrow out to Reno for Easter! :)

My Daughter Has A Problem

Note: This a guest post from Sesame's daddy, so please, keep in mind that nothing I say can be taken seriously.

So.....my daughter has a problem. A drinking problem. At first, I didn't want to admit it. It's hard to watch someone you love crave a drink every hour. She screams, she whines, she pouts until she finally gets that drink she's craving.

It's taken over her life. She drinks before noon. She drinks after noon. She drinks when she wakes up in the morning. A lot! She wakes up in the middle of the night craving a drink. It's gotten so bad lately, I think she's lost all bowel and bladder control.

I thought about finding meetings to try and help her. They say that it's hard to get a meeting like this together, given that most people her age don't see her drinking as a problem. Also, it's hard to sit in a circle when none of them can sit up.

Someday, I'm told, she'll need it less and less. They say she'll stop pulling liquid lunches every day. They say she'll stop lashing out at people when she's fiending. And eventually, I pray, she'll just want water in the middle of the night. Until then....I just don't know what to do!

My little girl.....almost 3 months old.....addicted to mommy's milk.

Praise God!

I Never Knew My Mother...

I never knew my mother hurt like she did when I made a mistake.
I never knew my mother prayed for me as fervently as she did.
I never knew my mother ached for my innocence to stay as long as possible.
I never knew my mother was the meanest because she loved me.
I never knew my mother said 'no' because she was trying to teach me.
I never knew my mother took me shopping simply to talk to me.
I never knew my mother locked the car doors so we had to talk to her - or listen to her.
I never knew my mother cherished our snuggles so much.
I never knew my mother cried more than I did when I fell.
I never knew my mother smiled when she saw my father in me.

I really never knew my mother, until I became one.
