Swimming.

I know my husband is finishing up a blog post regarding yesterday's AWESOME events. However, I just can't help from posting a FEW of the pictures. :) I won't even comment on them...except to say they are SOOC and we had so much fun. The end.

See, I eve only posted TWO. I deleted one. :) No worries more on the antics of swimming with a large lab to come. :)

January 1, 2011

Sounds like a holiday. Wait. I think it is a holiday. Let me check my calendar. Yes, definitely a holiday here in the USA. In the Golbov family it could also be a birthday.

That's right. Baby Number Two (aka Bean) is on the way.

Surprised???

So were we. :)

Sesame is taking the news welll. I told her there was a baby in Momma's tummy and she patted my belly. Now she'll give Bean kisses. Awesome. :)

She also thought it was funny. :)

Oh and here are some photos of how we live when I'm overwhelmed with work:

So look out world...another pajama unzipping fiend is on his/her way! :)

Sleep.

Sesame has been restless the past few nights. I'm wondering if those last four teeth are trying to break through. Either way, it means less sleep for Momma. Today husband graciously rose with Sesame at 6 am so I could nab a couple more hours sleep. :) Here's how I woke this morning:

Door creaks open.

Hushed tones ensue:

"Nellie, go see Mommy."
"AH-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"
"No, no - shhhhhhhhhh, we're quiet. Shhhhhhhhhhh."
"Ah-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

Thump.

Something landed on top of me. Something light...like laundry. I opened my eyes to see Sesame's pajamas. Shortly followed by a diapered Sesame. Bleary-eyed and confused I turned to husband.

"Why is she naked??" I asked.

"I didn't do it." he replied with his quirky grin.

It's true ladies and gentlemen. Nells has officially mastered the snap and zipper. She can now fully remove her clothing. Per Dr. Roscoe - it might be time to break out the duct tape for her diapers and turn allllllllllll the jammies inside out. :)

Unexpected.

A word that has permeated our home these days. What was that??? You want to know what is so unexpected?? I'm so glad you asked. No, really, I am. I have a list - Ya'll know how I like lists! :)

1. Instant oatmeal packages in my dishwasher.
2. Mini-basketball in my dryer.
3. Shoes in my toilet.
4. Sidewalk chalk in my bathroom.
5. Little People in multiple crevices
- my shoes
- tupperware
- the locked cureo cabinet (that one I still can't figure out!)
- the fridge (which I wasn't aware tiny hands could open)
6. A collection of water bottles under the couch.
7. Dog treats in the toy drawer.
8. Shampoo under my desk.
9. Missing headphone covers (I caught her with them the other day...in her mouth...and now I think I know where the neon green poo came from)

Ah. The joys of a 16 month old. :)

Gone.

So just because I haven't posted, doesn't mean Sesame has slowed with her shenanigans. On the contrary.

How many children do you know that can be both diva and Einstein??

Um I know one. Her name is Nells Bells. She attended a senior shoot with me at the beginning of May and just ate up the attention. Love this kid!

And this photo. I nannied for the girl on the right (who graduates from college in DECEMBER!) and the girl on the left (who is graduating from high school IN MAY!). How poignant that they now watch my little one. I really think I might have to have a ginormous copy of this for my work room. I'm welling with tears now. Oh no. The wells are overflowing...wet keyboard...

So I have to tell you all. Nells is becoming quite the helper. Today I opened the dishwasher and she started unloading the dishes. She lined all the plates up in a little row and then looked up at me. "What are you going to do now?" I asked her. Then she stacked three of them and heaved and grunted until she lifted them up to me. "Mah-muh!" She shouted. Why? Because I was totally spaced out on my daughter's capability. I mean...HELLO!? She's ONLY 16 months?! Jesopete...I'm not ready for this yet...

Then there's the unpacking of the blow up pool. She managed to open the box (which was taped) and pull out the pool in the time it took me to pee.

Trust me...just because there haven't been interweb stories doesn't mean they don't exist! :)

Absent.

For Oh-so-many-reasons-none-of-which-are-an-excuse. Except maybe the stomach flu. Definitely an excuse.

Moving on...

Summer is in full swing here in the Corn state. "What's that?" you say, "Summer??? But it's spring!?" Oh no. Not here at the Crossroads of America. Here it's 84 degrees outside, humid and so sticky even Homer begged me turn on the AC. Which, of course, I did, only because he asked me nicely. : ) So Sesame enjoyed some romping time in her sleeveless dress from YiaYia in the backyard.

What wonderful times. We picked freshly mowed grass, blew dandelions and jumped because we could. I love 15 months. : )

Then it was time to get to work.

I promise. We aren't the same person. Really. We're not. ; )

Then came reading time.

I might also add that Daddy caught the reading in the chair adorableness. : ) Love.

Oh and if the previous photo wasn't enough to prove we're mother and daughter this one might sway you into belief.

Oh yeah. We're awesome. : )

All in all and awesome day sans illness and much play. : ) Gotta love stayin' at home with the babe. : )

Warning: This post contains the Word Tampon...

...But first the winner is...

Number 7 - Kendall!

YAY! Just let me know what size, if you want onesies or T-shirts and if you still want Star Wars - because I can so do it! : )

Dear Sesame,

It has been some time since I wrote you a brief letter. I think it's good for your development to read. At least, that's what I hear. Anyway, Mommy thought it best to let you in on some secrets. When it's Mommy's shower time, and you're playing in the bathroom, so Mommy knows where you are, that does not mean you can pull Homer's tail. Nor does it invite you to eat the bathroom rug. Ew. Gross. It is also unacceptable behavior to open the box of tampons/maxi pads (you'll learn what they're for later in life, I promise!) and have a little "let's decorate Mommy's bathroom" party.

Did you hear me???

UN.

ACCEPTABLE.

While I am so very excited that your fine motor skills have reached heights that allow you to accomplish such feats, it is not okay to stick items of this nature ALL OVER THE CABINETS and DOORS!!! This is is why, after you so cutely knocked on the shower door, and Mommy opened said door, you saw a face that morphed from sheer joy to horror. Perhaps moments like these are where you get your face-making abilities.

Recent occurrences that are also unacceptable:

1. Throwing Homer's treats in the toilet.
2. Learning how to open children's safety locks. (Please, just pretend you don't know how!)
3. Eating dandelions.
4. Dumping Mommy's Diet Dr. Pepper all over the picnic blanket.
5. Screeching like a banshee at young children. (Sweetheart, it frightens them, it does not entice them to play with you.)
6. Licking fuzzy dandelions.
7. Trying to feed toilet paper to Homer.
8. Trying to feed your socks to Homer.
9. Leaping off furniture.
10. Drinking Mommy's coffee.

love,
