To the Carnival.

In early June we took the kiddos to a small local town fair.
Sesame ROCKED the rides.
For a girl who won't even go down tall slides at the park, she was a fiend for more crazy coasters!
Enjoy.

The Play-gue.

Beware.
There are unthinkable photos of a leprous young lad to follow.

We had the plague two weeks ago.
On Little Dude's birthday he struck a raging fever.
Silly fever.
It failed to realize it's host was celebrating a first birthday.

The next day Birthday Boy woke up with blisters and sores around his mouth
and
in his mouth
and
between his toes
and
on his fingers
and
in his ears.

Ew.
Gross.

We went to the doctor to find out he had hand, foot, mouth disease.
Thusly, I place the kiddos on house arrest and we began our week of quarantine.

Little Dude celebrated in style:

Day Two of the wretched viral plague.

He also had his 1 year shots/finger prick.  :(  Sad day.

By Day Three, his temperament was MUCH better, he just looked horrendous:

I had several friends who said, "Oh, my kid had that and it wasn't so bad."
Lies.
LIES.
He had little sores in his mouth, ears and nose.
Not to mention his eczema was exacerbated by the condition.
Ugh.

Okay.
Enough of gross pictures and mild complaints.
Leper boy has made a recovery and is fully functional (as a freshly one year old can be) in the world.

Bonus to the time of quarantine:

Tissue paper/toilet paper roll butterflies

Filling stations out of cardboard boxes

Note the joy and excitement - we were near the end of our recluse-like living in the Batcave.

New outdoor play kitchens from old $5 night stands

Tin cans, old bandannas, hot glue and aluminium tape.

This kitchen was completed with the help of husband dearest.  I couldn't find hinges in our garage for the LIFE of me.  Then I couldn't put them on.  Yay for handy husbands!  :)

All in all, our week of quarantine didn't turn out to be too bad.
We played hard (when not crying/fever ridden)
and found new purposes for old items.

I even spent some quality one on one time with my sweet Sesame.
She's great.  :)

Little Dude is going to rock age one.
I can feel it.  :)
More on the birthday to follow.
